We are finally up and running in Wren's bathroom! I have a couple touch ups and we're going to replace the blinds, but I couldn't wait to share it! If you remember, here was the game plan:
And more importantly, here was the before. Truth be told, we actually didn't really use it before. As a baby Wren just always used our bathroom, which also needs a little facelift, but nothing like this!
Yeah, it was pretty bad. The previous owners must have had a lot of moisture happening in here because the mirror and light fixture were rusted and pretty bad for a 25 year old bathroom.
But now it's bright, fresh and fun! Perfect for a growing little girl.
You may remember that we were doing it on a budget of $1500, which is pretty conservative for a full bath reno! And I think we hit it give or take $50. To keep the budget in good shape we DIY'ed everything and repurposed what we could. I got this mirror at an auction for $20 about 3 years ago and I has sat in the garage waiting for a makeover, so I spray painted it grey.
I picked up this rail for $7.99 at Ikea and got two packs of knobs (they are movable and removable!) for another $12. We spray painted the purple ones in the pack pink, but the green and mint ones were straight out of the box! I love how bold and chunky they are. The laundry basket is a clearance find at Target last year for $7 and we just painted it the same ballet pink as some of the knobs.
We did tile up to chair rail height. In this simple white grid it only cost $2/square foot and was a total cost of $250 with grout and mortar! Not much money, but a big impact in the overall effect. They yellow stool is from Ikea ($49) and the colourful bath mat is a rag rug from Jysk ($2.49)
The hand towel bar was a clearance Ikea find for $1.99. I like the little hooks for small things like head bands and accessories Wren ALWAYS is sporting!
Thanks so much for your patience in the long overdue reveal! It doesn't always happen fast when you do it all yourself, but we are so in love with the final result and enjoy it a little more knowing we did it all on our own time. Happy Friday, friends!
