Money, can't buy happiness.

There is an awesome little booklet that a mom from Wren's preschool made at the end of the year for all the parents. It was basically an interview with each of the children, all of the them answering the same questions.

The last question was "what would you do buy with $100?"
Wren, of course, says "A Balloon!"

That made me so happy. Mainly because I am sure there will be a day when she wants the latest jeans or the coolest shoes and it will be nice to look back on these (inexpensive) days. But it also made me happy because it is nice to know that simple things can still be so special. That she doesn't need extravagant things, and that we can take pleasure in 'treating' her.

I hope you treat yourself (or a family member) to something simple this weekend too.
You deserve it.

I am so happy for this Friday! It is the end of a week that was filled with adventures and excitement that I am sure won't happen again for a while. I am relieved and thrilled to finally share that Parkview has sold. It has been hard to keep that one a secret for nearly two months while it was under contract.

I owe you a full Parkview recap/source post still, I thought it was best to put it off once the sale was pending at the start June, but don't fret. It is on it's way!

In other news we have discovered the joy of having an animal with none of the responsibilities!

Dusty Doodle is a neighborhood cat who has just realized that a little girl named Wren will put out Milk for her anytime she meows at our door. She meowed for over an hour one evening... uh oh.

It was cooler this week so I put on make up again (YAY!!)

I also finally got to wear my favorite new boots I bought this Spring on holidays. I dreamed of wearing them with cute sundresses all Summer (I found this dress for $4 at a garage sale, which I'm pretty proud of).
But I quickly realized that sounds wayyyy cooler than it feels. Because it is not cool, it is freakin hot!

And finally, I was a ball of nerves and excitement last night getting ready and setting up for my BIG moment hosting an Anthro event. It turned out to be an excellent evening of giggles and glue and great girls. I'll have more photos to share next week.

But for today, I am going to grab some cherries, towels and take Wren over to splash the day away at the pool. Cheers to Friday!

Sometimes you cross paths with people on this blogging journey that you are so very grateful to have met.

Amanda is actually someone I came to know through Instagram. I think that if we weren't living in two different countries and just a little closer we would be inseperable, life long besties. You see, Amanda has a studio in Minneapolis where she hosts wonderful, fun craft events and she has a never ending supply of creativity.

And she has a most generous heart.

Last month Amanda whipped up countless camera straps, all to benefit a family in need (I had to restrict myself to only ordering one, they were soooo cute and fun!). Last week she drizzled glitter and happiness in the streets of Chicago. And this week I opened up my mail to find a special parcel.

Surely Amanda is one of those people. Because spreading cheer and happiness is her forte.

Wren and I spent the better part of an hour playing with all the little goodies. Making lemonade topped with umbrellas, care of Amanda.

Feeling pretty lucky to have crossed paths with such a dear, new friend.

Please be sure to head over to Amanda's blog, Oh My Little Dears, I promise you will find it refreshing, inspirational and fun.

And now Wren and I are dreaming up some way to 'pay it forward'
Thanks so much for making our week Amanda!
