Initial Site Visit to Design Presentation

4-10 weeks

The time allotted between our initial visit and the full design presentation is roughly 4-6 weeks. During this time I may reach out with questions or general ideas to get feedback, and I ALWAYS welcome you reaching out with inspiration that may have struck since our last meeting. Preliminary quoting from contractors may be done at this stage but it is usually quite vague until the full design is set in stone. If changes are requested after the design presentation there may be 2-4 weeks added to this window of time before we have an approved design plan.

Approval of Design Plan to Implementation

6 weeks to 5/6 months

This stage can vary greatly from one project to the next! For decor projects it may be as little as 6-8 weeks (in which time I am ordering and coordinating furnishings/lighting/accessories), while it may be as many as 2-5 months for a large renovation as materials and cabinets are measured and ordered, quotes and sub trades are lined up and homeowners pack up and move out. Due to the variance in time here I often suggest at least getting ahead of ordering hard plumbing and lighting finishes for the client so that we don’t encounter shortages down the road.

Implementation to

Completion

decor-only: (2-5 days)

construction: 6 weeks- 1.5 years

Again, this step is highly dependant on the project. For typical decor-only projects this step is roughly 2-5 days. In that time frame art is being hung, rugs unrolled, furniture and accessories place and your room completely comes to life!

For construction projects this step is entirely reliant on trades and materials. I will coordinate with the contractor to ensure an appropriate timeline is in place and expectations for the completion date are realistic and maintained. Clients should expect this step to take anywhere from 6 weeks for smaller rooms to 1.5 years for a whole home build. To keep the timeline as short as possible (and unexpected costs down) it is highly recommended to not make any changes or adjustments to the plan once we begin implementation.
