Fresh Coat Friday!

Happy Friday! Since you have all been so supportive and helpful with Fresh Coat Fridays I have decided that we will keep them going for as long as you all have photos to share (I was originally just thinking of doing it for the summer)! But to change up the pace a little I think will be nice to feature only 1 reader, just more photos from that 1 reader for 3 out of the 4 weeks every month. The first Friday of every month will still be the montage of every submission I receive up until then, but the other 3 Fridays will be projects or rooms submitted that just cannot be summed up in the 2 or 3 photos I usually allow. So if you have a fantastic room or grouping of projects and want to tell the world a little about it (you don't need a blog either, just email me the info!) then send it along!
**To accomodate this change I only ask that a maximum of 2 projects be submitted by each person too keep the first post of the month from becoming overwhelming or too lengthy**

To kick off our new Fresh Coat Friday Feature is new Mom and blogger, Krystle! On a tiny budget she made her tiny nursery (we're talking 6x9 here people!) wonderfully fun.

The adorable dresser was a $30 Goodwill score that looks like something out of a high-end kids boutique now. The little drawers will be perfect for storing tiny socks and diapers!

Only $40 on Craigslist, Krystle spent hours taping off spindles to paint in matching hues of turquoise and grey. Extra touches like this really make the room feel unique and add so much character to an otherwise standard crib.

Her little man, Asher, is one lucky little dude!

Even though the room is tiny you really don't notice the lack of space since everything flows so perfectly!

Wonderful work Krystle! You made everything in the room feel like a special touch and Asher is sure lucky to have such a thoughtful and creative Mama~
If you have a nursery or kids room with a few special touches link it up right here!
And stay tuned next week for the first Friday of the month montage!!!

Fresh Coat Friday!

Hello Friends! Thanks for being patient with us last week while Blogger and I had a heart to heart. This week he is on his best behavior so it seems to have worked! I am so excited to share the projects submitted this week because they are all wonderful and each one really has a character all it's own. Thanks so much to all the fantastic ladies who took the time to email me and tell me a little about what they've been up to! I wish I had the time to type out more about each piece but summarizing dozens of emails is a tall order... so please stop by the blogs that are linked (click on each ladies name in this post to be redirected if they have a blog) and learn a little more about the process and people behind these wonderful transformations!

Erin took this hand-me-down coffee table (which I think might be an identical twin to one I did last summer!) and made it feel positively beachy!

Meghan's family has a sweet tradition of bringing along homemade items for a family auction at their family reunion. After a little hardwork her table was most definitely the belle of the ball!

Becky has been trying to convince her hubby that their knotty pine bedroom furniture is not as current as he thinks... and I am sure that she easily won him over after this makeover!

I love the fresh green paint Lenore used on this lovely old chair!

Courtney found this old brass chandelier for $25 and turned it into a complete work of art for her almost-arrival, Avery! It looks beautiful and we can't wait to see more of Avery and her room~

Kristine found this little gem in the gutter, and not only did she give it a fresh new coat of paint, but she customized the knobs to match the old map she decoupaged on the surface. If I was ever tempted to pick up a black can of paint this might be one of those moments!!

Shaunna did a fantastic job taking this dark old table and giving it a beachy new look by liming it!

These little tables look so fresh and pretty after Sofia gave them a new coat of paint! The new knobs add a perfect hint of glam.

Kathleen and her furniture super powers never cease to amaze. And this one doesn't disappoint... plus we love her model.

Monique did a great job taking this mismatched dining set and making it feel complete. Love the floors as well Monique!!!

The next two transformations are courtesy of Lesa and her imaginative mind. She turned her $10 find into the cutest little chair with a pleated skirt. Her fireplace makeovere is pure genius! She took a cheapo tub of drywall spackle, a stencil, some of her favorite paint and gave her builder basic fireplace an old-world feel.

Holly (lovely name, by the way!) brings us the next two transformations. She did a major overhaul on the old desk and the cabinet is just stunning~

Anne did a wonderful job aging and glazing this old dresser! The details really pop now.

Cristy has a love of toile and she did an amazing job hand painting this salvaged table.

What have you been up to? Don't be shy!

Fresh Coat Friday!

Thanks so much for stopping by for another installment in our Fresh Coat Friday parties! I am hoping to set up a section that rounds up all the previous posts for everyone to reference back to soon, so check out for that. And I have also added a couple new links to our Renovations link for the family room and living room... and hope to add the laundry in the next week or two!
I also want to remind everyone that you do not need to have a blog to participate in fresh coat friday, just email the photos and any details you want to share and I will include it in the next week's post! Of course, a huge thanks goes out to all our returning contributors as well as the lovely new ladies who took the time to say hello and share with us all!!!

Jennifer transformed this $30 cabinet into a humidor for her boyfriend (great way to convince the guys to let us buy more furniture Jennifer!!) and I think it turned out perfectly! Jennifer is new to painting furniture and another one of her first items was a cute round side table, but based on these 2 pieces I think Jennifer has already established herself as an old pro.

This hutch was a 7 month labor of love for Melanie and her husband, but it was worth the wait! With new hardware, removing the upper railings and the original dark beadboard back all of their beautiful dishes just POP. I never would have thought of that, but it is amazing. And those tiny drawers are soooo neat!

Janice never ceases to make me smile with her tranformation play by plays. Not only is her newly painted chandelier fabulous in her full-room closet (jeaaalous!), but it made me giggle. Great bulb choice!!

Emma picked up this darling shelve for *dun dun duh* FREE! It was a "gift with purchase" at garage sale, and she have great plans for it. Adding some wallpaper to give it some character and a coat of paint did a world of good~

Megan and Heather scored this old tv console (which we have all seen a million times, but never thought to save) on craigslist and did the sweetest, most playful makeover! I love the white and fresh green together, I am sure it makes you smile everytime you glance over at it~

I think I need to hire Shaunna to come over to our house. This was her bathroom in April, and then her bathroom now (and I have basically patched a couple holes in the wall in that same time span...). Yup, I'm moving in!

Isn't Kathleen's desk makeover insane? I think she might have stumbled onto the perfect shade of red... not too bright but not too dark. I love it!

I missed this transformation last week, but definitely had to share! Shaunna was asked to take this buffet and give a whole new look... and did she ever. What a wonderful piece of furniture this was, but now it is simply dreamy.

Sandy always share absolute gems and this week is no different! I am infatuated with this cabinet!

Now I know you have been out and playing with paint as well, so let's see what you've been up to!!!
