new furniture and a few good times

I had a few moments to spare today, so I whipped out my camera! I am actually really surprised at the mirror in this picture because it really does not look as big as it is. It is almost 7 feet tall and 5.5 feet wide... and if I could have put it in my suitcase I would have loved to get this home to slap a coat of white paint on it (I can already hear my dad cringing with the idea).

My parent's bought this new computer desk last week at Mathis Brothers, and then at the estate sale I spotted the antique desk on castors. Talk about a great match, right?? And can you believe that leather topped desk was $350? I am still in awe over that. But this is where I am currently blogging from.

Much more glamorous than a couch in a semi-finished family room LOL.

One of the best things I think my parents did was open up the foyer to the living room with this arch. It adds a lot of light and bit of interest.

This couch has followed them from the last house, and I am so happy it did. It is a moss green velvet and is super comfy. And if memory serves me right I think we grabbed it about 5 years ago for $600 at Mathis Brothers. I think you can see where I get my thrifty-ness from
Besides decorating we have been soaking in the sun, taking Wren to Santa Monica for the first time to play in the sand. She LOVED it, but she actually got the biggest kick out of all the birds! She has to point to every bird she sees and she did a lot of pointing that day.

Grandma and Grandpa were gracious to offer to babysit on Cinco de Mayo so we could hit our favorite restaurant for some festive food! Yeah, we discovered we totally suck at the couples self-portrait...

Of course we have had lots of family dinners too~

Ciao friends!
