MakeShop Social Co.

A couple weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of sharing an evening with some of Edmonton's most creative, warm and fun ladies. It was a night of crafting with a healthy dose of laughter, incredible snacks and of course, cocktails mixed in for good measure! And it was all put on by two of my pals, Andrea and Christine, as their first ever workshop with their new venture: MakeShop Social Co.

There is a very special group of local ladies who have found their passions and followed their dreams by making these passions their careers, everything from styling to children's clothing to calligraphy, and to spend time with them is nothing short of refreshing and inspiring. You definitely feel a warm fuzzy feeling when you see such support for each other and it's amazing to see women empowering one another. Plus, sometimes when you are spending your days juggling everything from trades to packing lunches to cleaning dog paws it is nice to just take a moment for yourself.

Knowing Andrea and Christine, the venue was just a cool as I expected. They are two of the most creative gals around and together their power is just multiplied!

( you can probably tell how much fun I had based on this shot alone LOL)

We made some cool woven wall hangings. All the supplies were on hand in a variety of colours so we could customize to our decor as needed. How amazing all the florals were, from the uber talented Janine of Fabloomosity! Janine helped with florals for my Style at Home shoot and I cannot say enough about how lovely her creations are.

Christine and Andrea's Love Language is confetti and it was a blast to be showered in 'love' with them.

The fact that I even completed the weaving was a small miracle because my big yap was working overtime all night, but I am darned pleased with it if I do say so myself!

The big treat of the evening was a fun goodie bag we all took home. All items were also from  canadian ladies!

And my good friend Jenna of Plum Home + Design also sent us all home with fancy custom pillows. We were  most definitely spoiled!!

I've temporarily donated my wall hanging to Quesnell while it remains staged, but I can't wait to get it back home.

Thank you so much for hosting such a special evening Makeshop!! I can't wait to attend again. And if you want to also join in, be sure to check out their upcoming workshop dates. Don't worry if you can't find a friend to join you, it's a great excuse to get out and make new friends!

A big thank you all the other people who made the evening special: Amanda Nogier, Confetti Sweets, Contessa Macarons.
