Business Card Advent Calendar and Holiday Tags (free downloads)

They say giving is better than receiving, and I am fully on board with that. Specially because I get so much joy out of not only giving, but also in the enjoyment of wrapping gifts and finding ways to make the gifts I give extra special. So this year I decided to customize my own holiday tags and build on a tradition in our house that has become the highlight of the season for Wren.

It all started when I ordered some new business cards this Fall from Moo.com. I was so thrilled with the cards that arrived and the customization options they offer that I decided I would go ahead and also order a set of business cards but use holiday designs instead!

Moo.com lets you use one front (which I designed to be the To:/From: portion) and then up to 50 different backs on an order of 50 cards!! So I came up with the idea to do the 24 tags for our advent calendar and then do 13 of each of 2 generic designs I made for the gifts under our tree.

A hole punch, some neon twine from the automotive section at the Dollar Store and some plain white wrapping paper make our Advent calendar tags pop!

Wren looks forward to her Advent Calendar as much or more than the gifts under the tree! Most of the items in these boxes are either items she is in need of (new socks, a new toothbrush, or pajamas) or are little treats like tictacs or dollar store puzzles, etc. In all, I try to keep it to $50 or less for everything.

The order of white paper bags I got on Amazon for the scandi trees I shared last week are coming in helpful for all our smaller holiday gifts!

The second part of our Advent tradition is to do a smaller real tree like this Norfolk Pine to set our gifts under. Unfortunately the dogs have been a little too curious so the gifts will stay a little higher for now LOL. To see my post last year for our Advent tree, click here.

While I was ordering all these cute little tags, I also made up an order of custom stickers for the holidays as well I can't wait to show you!

If you want to create your own holiday tags I have created a hand FREE Download section in the menu at the top of the page where you can either print them at home or use to order your own set of high quality tags at Moo.com (they're having a killer sale today!). Just checkout as usual but leave all the credit card info blank and a secure web link will be emailed to you to get them from! If you want to recreate the advent tags simply drop me an email at inthefunlane@gmail.com and I'll happily send along all 24 pdf's for the calendar!
