... In the frosty air.

This morning Wren officially opened his first gift from the pile of Advent items! It was a little plastic toy dog figurine, she adores trinkets like that and was thrilled. As soon as we dropped her off at school the snow started coming down, so I guess that signals the official start of the Holiday Season!

I have abandoned my usual latte the past week or so for piping hot mulled cider, that smell filling the house bright and early of all the cinnamon and spices just adds to the Holiday cheer I can't help but feel this year.

I am a holiday baby (December 23, I actually came home from the hospital in a stocking!) so I sometimes feel an internal struggle to not be TOO Christmas-y until we hit the Birthday week since Wren is also a holiday baby and I always want her to feel like her day is not an afterthought to the holidays. But both her and I have been decorating and crafting in full Holiday style, with carols blasting and baking treats like it's going out of style. It just feels like it will be a VERY merry Christmas,  and most of all I'm so impressed that for a nearly 8 year old girl she's barely made mention of what gifts she wants or expects and she actually surprised me by putting the very first wrapped gift under the tree! (I'm guessing she made it herself since she doesn't do any shopping LOL).

So we will continue with our trimming and baking and singing and spreading of cheer, and if you feel like joining in, well the more the merrier!
